Designer, leaves England, goes to Barcelona
Few designers have left their mark on the city of Barcelona quite like Neil Cutler. He’s the designer behind the graphic concepts of dozens of restaurants in this European cultural hot spot, many of which are known to visitors and locals alike. Cutler is also a renowned packaging designer. Attracted by a climate somewhat better than that of his native Northern England, he’s has been living and working as a graphic designer in Barcelona since 1987. He works independently, with a clear design philosophy based on ideas and concepts rather than style, and a sense of humour that has raised a smile in many of his jobs. This is the second edition of the sell-out book of the same name, fully revised and updated, including communicative, imaginative, fun and award-winning visual solutions applied to packaging, corporate identity and other areas of design.
Unknown Disorder / Offf 2012
Perhaps you suffer from it too! it starts as a hobby, a collection, a job, an interest... then somehow it grows taking over your life, every waking moment becoming part of the obsession... our obsession, manifest in sleepless nights, haunted days, the angst over imperceptible detail, the quest for perfection. The disorder is unknown, the cure - success. This year, 2012, OFFF Barcelona celebrates the designers infected with the Unknown Disorder and showcases their work, the symptoms of obsession. The festival book develops the diagnostic theme, presenting the work of this years artists as a series of patient files in the hospital of OFFF. Each file presents original work by the artists including some made specifically for the festival. The book allows reader feedback by way of device scan-able barcodes which will be used to develop info-graphic artwork later in the year. This year the roster of artists includes publically submitted work alongside such luminaries as: Daniel Eatock, Lucy McRae, Radical Friend, J

Behind Illustrations
Behind Illustrations is a compendium that presents the current panorama of illustration where professionals the world over make their work known, with a range of illustrations with great visual diversity owing to the contrast of styles and cultures. But the book does not merely reveal their creative work. Each artist has a space at their disposal where they can reflect upon their own work and their own profession. This reveals the person behind each style and project, providing different visions of a profession they all have in common but that is, at the same time, different for each one of them.

Typo Latino by Jordi Vilafranca
Typo Latino is a publication where we showcase the work of emerging typographers as well as established type designers from across the globe. What differentiates Typo Latino from other font books is that we feature typefaces, outline the process of constructing them and provide short explanations from the authors on the formal characteristics or applications of each typeface. We want to show the working process, the final result and the end uses where they exist. As a compilation of best works by Latin authors, this text serves as a tribute to and an emphasis on Latin character. Among the 30 typographers are Andreu Balius, Alexander Paul, Eduardo Manso and Iñigo Jerez.

Selected B Graphic Design from Europe
Selected is not an award, but rather, as its name suggests, it is a selection of interesting projects completed during the past year. These are chosen by a selection team which is annually designated by the publisher -Index Book. The annual is presented with an original design and in a special format, smaller than average yearbook. The book is divided into three different categories (Profesional Graphic Design, Profesional New Media and Schools) and each project is featured individually in a double page spread. Instead of being numbered, each edition of Selected is assigned a letter, in alphabetical order, which is also the initial of the font face used in the book. Namely, the second volume in the series, Selected B, refers to the font face Bodoni. This is Index Book's special way of paying homage to typography as an iconic element in design. The team of Selectors assigned for this edition have been, under each category: Graphic Design: Musa WorkLab, Isidro Ferrer, Marc van der Heijde, Francisca Martín, Roma

Logology2
The look and functions of logos vary over time. First emerged as pictorial names to differenciate producers in the market, logos today speak a much sophisticate language that caters for the world. Whether they draw on symbolism or wordds or letterforms to channel values and promises, keeping the message precise and straightforward is still the key to talk. Following the success of Logology®, Logology®2 put together a picture of unique brand expressions that answer changes and are meant to grow with time.
